Recall Gap Finder is an automated data aggregation and research platform. The service provides algorithmic cross-referencing between publicly accessible motor vehicle safety recall records and consumer complaint files published by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), an operating administration of the United States Department of Transportation. Recall Gap Finder is an independent, privately operated entity and is NOT owned, operated, endorsed, authorized, or licensed by, or an agent of, NHTSA, the U.S. Department of Transportation, the United States Government, or any automotive manufacturer, distributor, or franchised dealership.
All automotive trademarks, service marks, trade names, model names, and brand identifiers (including, without limitation, CHEVROLET, GMC, SIERRA, SILVERADO, FORD, F-150, TOYOTA, HIGHLANDER, HONDA, CR-V, JEEP, RAM, HYUNDAI, KIA, NISSAN, BMW, MERCEDES-BENZ, TESLA, and their respective stylized badges) appearing on this website are the property of their respective trademark owners. Use of these marks on Recall Gap Finder is strictly nominative and descriptive, intended solely to identify specific vehicles, component systems, and public government campaign filings. Such use does not imply, suggest, or constitute sponsorship, endorsement, affiliation, or partnership between Recall Gap Finder and the respective brand owners, pursuant to the Lanham Act (15 U.S.C. Section 1125) and judicial doctrine established in Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. v. Tabari, 610 F.3d 1171 (9th Cir. 2010).
Recall Gap Finder is not a law firm, does not provide legal representation, and does not offer legal advice. The software, reports, algorithmic gap calculations, reference dossiers, and generated communication templates (collectively, the “Materials”) are provided strictly for general informational, educational, and consumer self-help advocacy purposes. The Materials do not constitute legal opinions, formal legal demand letters, or court pleadings. No attorney-client relationship is formed between you and Recall Gap Finder by virtue of your use of the website or receipt of Materials. You are strongly advised to consult a licensed attorney in your state regarding state Lemon Law statutes, the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, or breach of warranty claims.
Federal law (Title 49, United States Code, Section 30120) mandates that motor vehicle manufacturers repair or remedy safety defects without charge ONLY for vehicles specifically designated within the scope of an official Part 573 Safety Recall Report filed with NHTSA. Vehicles manufactured outside those designated VIN sequences, production dates, or model years do NOT possess a statutory right to free recall repairs.
Dealership or manufacturer “Goodwill Assistance,” “Goodwill Adjustments,” or “Policy Coverage” are entirely voluntary, gratuitous, and discretionary customer relations accommodations. Recall Gap Finder makes NO REPRESENTATION, WARRANTY, OR GUARANTEE, express or implied, that any dealership, service manager, or manufacturer will approve goodwill coverage, perform free repairs, or issue out-of-pocket reimbursements. Any financial figures, repair estimates, or target claims displayed on this site represent hypothetical advocacy goals and do not reflect guaranteed outcomes.
Recall Gap Finder compiles and presents data obtained directly from public NHTSA databases. Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) consumer complaints represent subjective, unverified reports submitted by individual vehicle owners. NHTSA does not verify the technical accuracy of individual complaint narratives, nor does the presence of complaints establish the existence of a safety defect or engineering defect. Recall Gap Finder does not independently inspect, test, or verify vehicles or component parts and assumes no responsibility for errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in public government datasets.
Analysis of adjacent-year recall gaps reflects algorithmic correlation of public government databases and does not constitute a technical engineering determination that an excluded vehicle possesses an identical defect or that an automaker acted fraudulently in defining recall scope. Cutoffs in recall campaigns are established by manufacturers and regulators based on production tooling, supplier changes, component revisions, and assembly dates. Recall Gap Finder's reports are protected non-commercial factual summaries under the First Amendment of the United States Constitution.
If you submit your contact information, vehicle VIN, or repair documentation through our defect reporting forms, you understand that your information is collected for safety research, defect tracking, and consumer advocacy analysis. Recall Gap Finder is NOT a lawyer referral service. We do not accept referral fees from attorneys in violation of state bar rules or anti-capper statutes (including California Business & Professions Code Section 6152). Submitting a report does NOT preserve any statutes of limitations or legal notice deadlines.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL RECALL GAP FINDER, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, PUNITIVE, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF REPAIR EXPENSES, TOWING FEES, DIAGNOSTIC CHARGES, VEHICLE RENTAL COSTS, LOSS OF USE, OR DIMINUTION IN VEHICLE VALUE, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THIS SERVICE, ANY DENIAL OF GOODWILL ASSISTANCE BY A DEALERSHIP OR MANUFACTURER, OR ANY INACCURACY IN PUBLIC GOVERNMENT RECORDS. You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Recall Gap Finder and its affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to your violation of these Terms of Use, your misuse of generated reference dossiers, or your interactions with third-party automotive dealerships or manufacturers.
YOU AND RECALL GAP FINDER AGREE THAT ANY DISPUTE, CLAIM, OR CONTROVERSY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS, YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, OR GENERATED REFERENCE DOSSIERS SHALL BE RESOLVED EXCLUSIVELY THROUGH FINAL AND BINDING INDIVIDUAL ARBITRATION ADMINISTERED BY THE AMERICAN ARBITRATION ASSOCIATION (AAA) PURSUANT TO ITS CONSUMER ARBITRATION RULES, RATHER THAN IN A COURT OF LAW.
CLASS ACTION WAIVER: YOU AND RECALL GAP FINDER AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN YOUR OR ITS INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS, COLLECTIVE, OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING.
These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law. To the extent any dispute is deemed non-arbitrable, you consent to the exclusive personal jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in Wilmington, Delaware.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, void, or for any reason unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed severable from these Terms and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions. These Terms represent the entire agreement between you and Recall Gap Finder regarding your use of the website and Materials.
