ODI #11769744 • Incident Date: 10/07/2026
Driving down interstate about 65 the light on dash came on stated low engine oil stop engine at same time could smell smoke and saw smoke coming from under hood. I pulled over as fast as I could and by that time the smoke was pouring out from under hood. I turned engine off and I popped hood got out and slowly opened in case was on fire. It was not but I saw oil all over my engine and dripping from under vehicle. The front tire was covered with oil as well as down side of my truck. I saw where I pulled over a long oil streak. Oil kept leaking oil and large puddle formed under engine on side of road.
ODI #11760491 • Incident Date: 07/31/2026
In reference to 2024 Chevrolet pickup, 6.2L engine, 10 speed transmission. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. I believe the transmission is going into "partial lock-up" at full/highway speed. When traveling on highway with cruise control engaged, the vehicle suddenly acts as though the brakes are being strongly applied, slowing the vehicle at a very rapid rate, down as low as about 40 MPH. The vehicle slows quickly enough that the driver and passengers are thrown forward to the extent allowed by the seat/safety belts. The issue terminates itself at various times. The vehicle has been inspected by GM mechanics several times, but they cannot find the problem. There were no warning lamps, messages, service engine lights, etc. This has occurred on at least five (5) different occasions. The first occasion was at approximately 7000 odometer miles. The vehicle now has 25,100 miles. All incidents have been reported to GM dealership mechanics.
ODI #11752704 • Incident Date: 06/24/2026
The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while reversing, the message "Service Transmission" was displayed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where an unknown transmission part was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the contact was informed that the transmission gear shifter had failed and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but denied covering the cost of the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 39,000.
ODI #11751207 • Incident Date: 07/09/2026
The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, the contact attempted to shift the into reverse and the gear shifter failed to respond as needed. An independent mechanic was contacted. The vehicle was taken to the independent mechanic and was diagnosed and determined that the vacuum modulator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 17,000.
ODI #11749827 • Incident Date: 02/17/2025
The transmission lost the ability to move the vehicle. The valve body for the transmission became inoperable at 7,600 miles. This is a safety issue because it can leave people stranded in cold/inclement weather. This happened without warning and the dealer replaced a spacer and check balls for the valve.

Adjacent Recall Summary (22V463000): General Motors (GM) has decided that certain 2022 model year Chevrolet Silverado, and GMC Sierra vehicles equipped with an accessory sport bar. The accessory sport bar contains a high-mounted brake light that may not function. In addition, it may block the vehicle's existing high-mounted brake light. As such, these vehicles may fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment."

Safety Consequence: An inoperative high-mounted brake light can reduce visibility to other drivers and increase the risk of a crash.

Manufacturer Remedy on 2022: Dealers will inspect the installation of the accessory bar and provide the correct vehicle wiring, if necessary, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters advising owners of the safety risk were mailed on August 10, 2022. Owner notification letters were mailed on January 27, 2023. Owners may contact GM's customer service on 1-888-988-7267 or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020.. GM's recall number for this recall is N222368110.
